Mini adventure taking on the South Downs Way by bike

Setting off alone on my bike is the best way of reminding myself that life is never as complicated as we like to make it. There is something extremely humbling when your days consist merely of pedalling. We have developed so many first world problems in our culture that often I think we forget to simply appreciate the magic of our existence. Taking time out of our regular routine to reconnect with the world around us I believe is vitally important to our physical, mental and spiritual well being and for me there is no better way to do this than taking off with my bike and sleeping bag and heading off into the great outdoors. 3 days on the South Downs Way shows that adventure can happen on our doorstep and exists everywhere.

Ironman is all about the journey. The 140.6 mile race is an epic journey in itself, and having completed Ironman Kalmar last year I am all too aware just how tough the 2.4 miles of swimming, 112 miles of cycling
